Knowledge of the essence does not guarantee against recklessness.
Students are more engaged and learn more effectively when they have to figure things out on their own. If you simply spoon-feed material head-on, it will become boring and easily forgotten.
What really matters about reading is that it creates ease and familiarity with the process of writing; a person comes to the writer’s country with all documents in perfect order. Constant reading will lead you to a place where (in a mood in which - if you prefer) you can write willingly and selflessly. And you are given an ever-increasing knowledge of what has been done and what has not yet been done, what is old and fresh, what works, and what is just lying on the page, dying (or already dying). The more you read, the less likely you are to make a fool of yourself using your own pen or word processor.
But you know, Atsushi-kun, battle is like a living being. A mere trifle can turn everything upside down, and then even a obviously successful plan will fail miserably. So knowledge is power.
Who will know what languishes beyond the limits of our knowledge.
I was so stupid that I seriously thought that knowledge could make everything clear, but some things are hidden too deep under the levels of semantics and syntax, under the hours and days; so securely hidden under forgotten names that you rescue from oblivion, and then throw away again, that just knowing about your wounds is not enough. You can't expose them that easily.
