I'm ninety. In the 90s there was little choice: either become a bandit or become a journalist. It was later that these two professions merged.

It seems to me that the most dangerous enemies of humanity are liars. There are hundreds of thousands of liars in the world. A liar is a journalist who writes “freedom” and thinks about the freedom with which capitalists exploit workers and imperialists squeeze the juice out of colonial peoples. A liar is someone who says “peace” but in reality stands for war. A liar is someone who talks about “human dignity”, but in reality advocates humility and submission, teaches silence in the face of injustice, and turns a blind eye to poverty. Without wishing to offend anyone, I believe that there are liars in every part of the world. Every country has or had its own liars, and it’s very good if one or another country managed to overcome lies.

This is some kind of vaudeville prompter, appearing under different names, in different newspapers, commissioned by different ministers and writing different things for different amounts.

To scare people is your profession!

I thought I didn't need anything other than what I love. I lived journalism: only it gave me a taste for life, and that suited me perfectly. Until you showed up. For the first time in my life, I want to write not only about danger, morality, suffering and deprivation ... I want to write about you. I would like to count not units of military equipment, but your moles and eyelashes. Sitting not in the trenches with a notebook, but with you at dinner. Understand? I seem to be losing my grip. And I don't care at all because you're worth it.

You know... I guess one of the characteristics of a good journalist is knowing when to stop digging and just let go. At least for a while.

A dozen photographers and journalists are bored in front of the dry cleaners: a small fry, a tired and cheerless infantry with a finger on the lens shutter, in the service of vulgarity and obscenity.

Writing is, first of all, the assertion of one's self, dominance over another, calling: listen to me, look at things as I do, change your mind. This is aggression, even hostility.

Two dozen journalists crowded on the sidewalk. Vultures, rats, hyenas - a constant menagerie, regularly gathering in the hope of feasting on tragedy.

Journalism: the art of explaining to others what you don't understand.

Journalists have absolutely no interest in the news they cover, just as waiters have no appetite for the food they bring.

Journalists are in the invisible hunt for watch brands of public people. It's always an informational occasion.

If you are an official, politician or clergyman, society will not forgive you an expensive watch. They will remember this, and at any opportunity, they will remember the value of your watch. You can tell as much as you like that you are an honest person, but your watch is very expensive and journalists will record this.
