To that which is a radical denial of positivism and a spiritual victory over it - to an idealistic and religious worldview, to the recognition that behind the world of phenomena there is a realm of truly existing being, an ideal world, a kingdom of absolute Truth, Good and Beauty; in striving for it, in religious "contact with other worlds" (as Dostoevsky liked to express himself) is the life of the spirit, and this living connection with the ideal world gives strength, support and consolation in the struggle of life in the name of this ideal beginning.

This is how long ago people have been in love with each other, which, by combining the previous halves, tries to make one of the two and thereby heal human nature.

The origins of fear in Freud coincide with the "scientific thesis" in 1 John. However, the diametrical difference is that the author of the message speaks of love in a spiritual sense, and Freud in its elementary, sexual meaning (libido). But is the chasm insurmountable? We do not want to narrow it down, but it is worth considering the following: it is indisputable that even the highest spiritual experiences do not pass in the mental life without bodily sensations, although they do not have to be sexual. Some psychologists, the same William James and Karl Lange, even went so far as to mistakenly believe that feelings are just the result of innervation of muscles and blood vessels ... higher intellectual functions. On the other hand, Freud, studying sex drive, over time expanded the concept of sexuality, admitting into it the Platonic idea of Eros and the German word "Liebe" - love. This terminology has led to endless confusion. But Freud emphasized more than once: by "sexuality" he means everything that includes the word "love" - and if you remember this, the objection that his theory is pansexual loses its validity. This view is supported by other arguments. And I do not know of a single psychologist who can argue against John, who brings fear out of love. Only in the Bible is fear perceived more spiritually and therefore not as widely as in modern psychology.

The essence of the matter is exhausted not by its goal, but by its implementation, and it is not the result that is the real whole, but the result together with its becoming; the goal itself is a lifeless universal, just as a tendency is a simple drive that has not yet been translated into reality; and the naked result is a corpse that has left behind a tendency.

All life is the realization of one goal, namely, the preservation of life itself, the tireless work of what is called the general instinct of life. This general instinct, or reflex of life, consists of a mass of individual reflexes. Most of these reflexes are positive-motor reflexes, that is, towards conditions favorable for life, reflexes aimed at capturing and assimilating these conditions for a given organism ... even the instinct for life, attachment to life falls ...

Friendship resolves the same crisis as love, but only in a much purer atmosphere, first a mutual attraction based on a common belief; it is followed by mutual admiration and glorification; then, on the one hand, there is distrust, doubt about the superiority of his friend and his ideas; you can be sure that the gap is inevitable.

Let people consider the embellished version of what the Enemy promises only as a result of marriage as the basis of marriage. Two not bad possibilities follow from this at once. First, people who do not have the gift of abstinence can be deterred from marriage, because they are not “in love” - thanks to us, the idea of marriage “not for love” will seem low or cynical to them. Yes, yes, they think so. They believe that the intention to marry for mutual assistance, the protection of chastity and procreation is lower than an accidental storm of feelings. Secondly, any sexual attraction that tends to marriage will be considered "love", and love of this kind will excuse any sin and, quite possibly, provoke marriage to a woman completely worldly, stupid or depraved.

Both points of view - one that erotic love is from beginning to end a unique individual attraction of two specific people, and the other, that erotic love is nothing more than an act of will - are correct. Or, to put it more precisely, neither one nor the other is true. Thus, the idea that a relationship can be easily terminated if it is unsuccessful is as erroneous as the idea that a relationship should not be terminated under any circumstances.

Sexual desire requires fusion, but physical attraction is based not only on the desire to get rid of painful tension. Sexual desire can be inspired not only by love, but also by anxiety and loneliness, a desire to conquer and be subdued, vanity, the need to hurt and even humiliate. It turns out that sexual desire is triggered or easily merged with any other strong emotion, only one of which is love. Due to the fact that sexual desire in the understanding of most people is connected with the idea of love, they easily fall into the delusion that they love each other when they are physically attracted to each other. When the desire for sexual confusion is caused by love, then physical intimacy is devoid of greed, the need to conquer or be subdued, but full of tenderness. If the desire for physical union is not motivated by love, if erotic love is not yet complemented by brotherly love, this will never lead to a unity that would be more than an orgiastic transitory union. Sexual attraction creates for a brief moment the illusion of unity, but without love, this unity leaves strangers as strangers to each other as they were before.
