The holidays are ending and our working days are coming..
As soon as the New Year holidays pass, you immediately want spring, tulips, a pink thread of dawn on the horizon and evening jogging under the warm, beautifully setting sun. Light dresses with pointed stiletto heels, a new haircut and dreams of sea voyages. And also to cut through our meadows on an old vintage bicycle with bouquets of flowers in a basket, breathe in the awakened earth, wait for the first thunderstorm and spontaneously go for a swim at the lake. How far away all this is still! In the meantime, winter monochrome, sometimes gray, sometimes white, with the smell of pine needles and home comfort, post-New Year gifts and a blank sheet of paper for the whole New Year. Thoughts, plans, expectations, goals, dreams. All that remains is to take the paints and start painting it all.
Every day is a holiday for me.
Yes, the Holiday is unusual, freedom from other people's affairs. After all, all they do is that other people’s affairs are imposed; they sell themselves. We need at least a day of freedom, dreams of joy... Children, lights... Fragrant flowers in the frost. Can we replace this with anything? If you don’t have this, you don’t have the strength to live...
You never know there are good things in the world that were of no use to me. At least the Christmas holidays. These are joyful days - days of mercy, kindness, forgiveness. These are the only days in the entire calendar when people, as if by tacit agreement, freely open their hearts to each other and see in their neighbors - even the poor and disadvantaged - the same people as themselves, wandering the same road to the grave with them, and not some beings of a different breed who should take a different path.
...I didn’t like to read military books, although in my childhood and youth this was everyone’s favorite reading. All my peers. And this is not surprising - we were children of Victory. Children of the winners. The first thing I remember about the war? Your childhood melancholy among incomprehensible and frightening words. People always remembered the war: at school and at home, at weddings and christenings, on holidays and at memorial services. Even in children's conversations.
Do you know why there are no days off on scientific holidays? Because science always works.
New Year is the best holiday that unites people and makes them happy. I want, like the new year, to give happiness to people not one day, but all the time.
