In the gospel of St. John it is written: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that the world might be saved through him." Today we celebrate the body and blood of the Redeemer, who died for you, the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, the only son of God who died for your sins. You are going to eat of the sacrifices you and thank God for that. And I know that morning when you were going to eat of the body of the Redeemer, your hearts were filled with joy and you remembered the sufferings of God the son who died for your salvation.
But who of you thought about the suffering of God the father, who gave to be crucified on the cross of his son? Any of you thought about the torment his father, who looked to Calvary, from the height of his heavenly throne?
I watched you today when you walked in solemn procession, and see how you exulted in your heart that opustitsya you your sins, and rejoiced in his salvation. And here I ask you: think about what price it was purchased. Great price! It exceeds the price of rubies, for it is the price of blood.
