Imagine that some superior race came to Earth hundreds of years ago, during the religious wars, and wants to intervene in the conflict on the side of the weak. Relying on their power, they prohibit the burning of heretics, persecution of infidels and so on. And do you think they would be able to spread on the Ground your rationalism? After all, almost all of humanity was then a believer, they would have to destroy it to the last man, and they would have remained alone with their rationalistic ideas.
