Some humorist then noticed that when the Doctor turned his attention to Earth, alien invasions began to happen there every week - so Gallifrey should not expect a better fate under his rule. The words were prophetic: two invasions in two weeks. Of course, the Doctor was shown the door, and he, announcing that it was the worst rest in his memory, proudly left. Oddly enough, no one has ever invaded Gallifrey since.
