Any city as a living organism, has veins and arteries. This is the street. And fill it - the blood of the city and its inhabitants. The flow is definitely useful.
In the morning people rush to work, filling the arteries and the means of transport, day idle and running go shopping, in the evening through the veins of flocking to their homes, and then sometimes leave them again, making forays to the cinema or to the disco.
