John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. The Lord Of The Rings (№ 147387)

We must step into the trap with open eyes, gathering all the courage, and remembering that for yourself of hope we have is almost gone. For, my lords, it may well be that we will all die in this black battle, die far from the land populated by people. Even if Barad-Dur is still fall, we are in a new era, which opens to others, did not join. But this is, I think, our duty. Judge for yourself, is that death is not the best possible? After all, if we do nothing, death will find us here, with the same inevitability, but the difference is considerable, for, when dying, we'll know that new era will not come again.
