St. Ignatius. Ascetic experience (№ 176415)

An example of work in mind, which has made the worker to the height of Christian perfection by taking in the depth of humility, we see the heroism of blessed Isidore of Alexandria. He was one of the dignitaries in Alexandria. Designed by the mercies of God towards monastic life, Isidore entered into the monastic dormitory, the former not far from Alexandria, and gave himself in unconditional obedience to the hegumen of the monastery, the husband, full of the Holy spirit. The Abbot, seeing that the height of Sana'a was formed in Isidore temper haughty and hard, determined to act against mental illness by the laying on of obedience difficult not only for body, but for a failing heart. Isidor, entering into the dormitory, told the Abbot that he entrusts himself to him as iron is given into the hands of Kovacs. The Abbot ordered him to stand and always stand at the gate of the monastery so that he each inbound and outbound worshipped at his feet and said, "Pray for me, I'm possessed by the devil." Isidore has rendered obedience to the Abbot as if an angel of God. After spending seven years in the foreseeing his obedience, and his death from Divine revelation, Isidor died happily.
