Oscar Wilde. A woman of no importance (№ 23853)

The ideal man should talk to us like goddesses, and treat us as children. He should refuse all serious requests, and gratify all our desires. Indulge caprices, and forbid us to have a calling. He must always say what he thinks, and to think, not what he says...
He should never run down other pretty women. It would prove that he had no taste, or would have caused suspicion that the taste of it too much. No, he should be nice about them all, but to say that somehow they don't attract him.
