We should be condescending to any human folly, the mistake, the defect, taking into consideration that it is our own stupidity, blunders and vices, for it is the vices of mankind to which we belong, and hence they themselves shared all his faults, i.e. those which we at this time are outraged precisely because they appeared not in ourselves.
