Richard Bach. The Seagull named Jonathan Livingston (№ 281027)

Aren't keen to learn about flying anything more than the basics: how to get from shore to food and back. For most gulls, most importantly - the food, not the flight. Even his parents were dismayed as Jonathan spent whole days alone, doing their experiments again and again planning over the water.
