Charlotte Bronte. Jane Eyre (№ 301293)

Wealth is something tangible, something entirely related to the external sphere of life, there is nothing perfect, everything associated with it has the character of a sober calculation; and these are appropriate feelings. People don't jump and scream "Hooray" to learn that they received the state; on the contrary, they now begin to think about blame on their responsibilities and all matters, we are satisfied, but there are serious concerns, and we think about their happiness with a furrowed brow.
