If we believe that the purpose of our life is to gratify our material "I" and provide it with all necessary, and that such material prosperity is the highest happiness, we take the bottom of the top and the illusion for the truth. The materiality of our life - a consequence of the materiality of our bodies. We - "worms of the earth", as they are bound to the earth by their aspirations. If we are able to embark on the path of evolution that will make us less material, more subtle, exalted, there will be a whole different civilization. What we now need, something without which we can not do, would then become absolutely useless; if our consciousness can travel at the speed of thought to any point of the globe, old vehicles and means of communication, we will not be required. As we sink deeper into the matter, the devices with which we have to maintain their life becomes more material; but the essential and powerful God in man is not material - in the usual sense of the word - and not subject to the constraints imposed by matter.
