It meant a senseless, hopeless aspiration, like a beggar child dreaming of becoming a king, and took its origins from the tale of a young man who fell in love with the moon. Lazlo used to love the story, but now he hated it. The essence of the tale was resignation to the impossible, and he is no longer capable of it.
