I'm getting on in years, and since I know Shakespeare and Mr. Emmons are dead, it's possible that even I might die. The thought of this prompts me to leave the literary field and rest on my laurels. But I am eager to commemorate my renunciation of the literary scepter with some valuable gift to posterity.
