John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. The Lord Of The Rings (№ 440899)

In that old time of which we are speaking, there was almost no government in Hobbitania. Each family itself, as best they could, dealt with their own affairs - mostly about how to grow a better crop and how to feed themselves tastier. Otherwise, the hobbits were more or less accommodating, not at all greedy; habitually content with their own, they did not covet someone else's.
