Losing one's head is only permissible for a beginner who first encounters an insurmountable impasse and gives up. And, thank God, for decades of diplomatic service I had a chance to see a lot. Patience, which is necessary for any person, is especially appreciated in our profession. It's hard to piss me off. But it's not worth checking.
