Book: Conversation with a mummy

In my time, I did not know anyone who held such a fantastic view that the universe (or this world, if you like) had a beginning.

Then we started talking about the beauty and greatness of democracy and tried hard to convince the count correct consciousness of those advantages, what we enjoyed, having the right to vote ad libitum and not having over themselves a king.
Our speech seems quite interested and even clearly amused. When we finished, he explained that they had in Egypt, too, in ancient times there was something in a completely similar way. Thirteen Egyptian provinces suddenly decided that they need to be freed, and put a great beginning for all mankind. Their wise men got together and wrote the most that neither is remarkable Constitution. At first all went well, only unusually developed boasting. It ended, however, the fact that these thirteen provinces were United with the rest, not fifteen, not twenty, one despotism, but such vile and intolerable, what else the world had never seen.
I asked what was the name of the despot-usurper.
