Quote Explanation: Yakuza Shinji comes to Takahashi to give him information. Takahashi notices that in place of the thumb of his right hand, cut off as a payment for shame, Shinji implanted a device that is a weapon in the form of a laser (?) line that burns through everything it touches. Takahashi ridicules Shinji for turning his shame to his own advantage instead of honorably bearing the shame, which is, in fact, even more shameful.
