Parable: Tree of wishes

One day in the desert was crawling the man dying from hunger and thirst, suddenly he saw a small tree.
- Oh, if that tree had lush foliage and sheltered me from the scorching sun, he thought.
And, lo and behold, he was under the canopy of broad green leaves in the cool shade.
A little rest, he thought,
- Oh, if here, on this tree grow juicy fruits.
And, lo and behold, there was the fruit. He broke the fragrant ripe fruit, took a bite and felt the divine taste. It took him some fruits to eat.
Sated, he started dreaming:
- Oh, if here between the roots of this wonderful tree would flow spring!
And, lo and behold, immediately under the roots scored the purest spring and the traveler could drink life-giving water.
When he had quenched hunger and thirst, he thought:
- No, it can't be that everything was so good, Oh, and suddenly it is the work of demons?
And then came the demons...
