Character: Faulkner

I love good detective stories, like "the Brothers Karamazov".

As long as people will read the novels, they will write, or Vice versa, unless, of course, magazines and comics finally do not kill the human ability to read, and apparently, our literature is moving backward, to the primitive writing in the Neanderthal cave.

The artist has no time to listen to critics. Criticism interesting to someone who is just going to be a writer, and the man who writes does not have time to read criticism.

No one except me, did not know what and how I write. I myself always knew well and precisely I wrote or not. Nobody else could say. If I thought that was good, I didn't care what anybody might think.

The books I read, I read for many years. The old Testament, Dickens, Flaubert, Balzac, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Shakespeare. It's old friends.
