Why art?.. One of my first memories is how I paint a sunflower in watercolor; and somewhere in my head I knew that this perfect sunflower when will wither and die. But I had the power to save him, to immortalize the beauty around her and save her from the cruelty of life.
Leonardo da Vinci said - any artist needs to begin painting with black, because all things in nature are dark except where exposed to light. Maybe we believe that we should start with a white canvas; but maybe now we need to see how the water becomes cloudy and as the petals fall?.. Maybe through art we come face to face with the darkness, and change can only be so?..
