Leavitt was an inveterate pessimist. (He once confessed that at my own wedding, I could think of was how much alimony I will have to pay.) He was grumpy, irritable and very heavy; on the face of it, there was a sullen folds, and his eyes froze sadness it seemed as though those eyes gaze into the future, but I see there is a dull hopelessness. And yet Leavitt was considered, imaginative and not afraid to think broadly and boldly.
