Confidence does with the inquisitiveness of man what the sun did with the wings of Icarus. In the bright light, certainties fade and doubts disappear. Confidence entails arrogance, arrogance is followed by blindness, and blindness is followed by darkness. Thus, the brighter the light of confidence, the more darkness it creates. This is called the contradictory nature of a belief.
