... when a company may not heal your ulcer, it is prohibited to mention them for fear of universal scorn, but scorn is just flashy tinsel, under it hiding the painful disease. People don't like it when they are reminded of the plagues that they are unable or unwilling to heal themselves. This reminder causes people to feel helpless or, even worse, forces them to make some unpleasant effort, disrupts their peace and irritates them.
