In the spring of 1987 I had met on a dark, desolate streets of Chernobyl couples in uniform. Invincible shoots of life made their way here through a radioactive dust, through the tensions for the LPA (the accident). The laws of life triumphed here.

They recalled the principle professed by the decent people all over the world: those who are in trouble, sympathize, help, doing everything to quickly shed misfortune.

And then, when the opportunity came to return to their apartment and pick up some things, exposed to hard radiation control, people like I saw the light, rushed not to the "prestigious" carpets (carpets have gained a lot of radiation), not to the crystal, and to those things that were spiritual value: photos of loved ones, favorite books, old letters, some funny, but memorable things that is deeply personal and very fragile world of man, living not only the present but the past and the future.

And I thought about how on that terrible night he is, a man in a white coat, the first doctor in the world working at the crash site of this magnitude, rescued the injured, terrified, and tormented by the radiation of people, as it gives them hope, because that night it was his only cure, stronger Relanium, aminazine and all drugs in the world.

If the administration people are honest, decent, principled, then, of course, and the workers are trying to match. When someone is still allowed, but anyone not born and do not even envy, and spiritual discomfort.

But no such right of a journalist to be a coward.
