One of the main signs of depression is a lack of hope. Lack of faith in the future. It seems that you are stuck in a tunnel, both ends of which are bricked up. If I could know my future and that the light at one end of the tunnel would be brighter than anything I had ever experienced, then the stone wall blocking this light would immediately collapse and the rays of the sun would open to me.
