Character: Alan Wake

When we manage to do something difficult, have mixed feelings - satisfaction and made relief. Sadness. Anguish. Some time you have lived only to work. She captured you like a disease. Changed you. Why you cut off from the world, and now you need to heal. To learn to live without her. To find a way to hack the locked door and let the inside light.

History is not a machine, obedient to every motion. History is the beast, the living beast. You can create it, give it shape, but then it becomes your own desire. Change one thing, and start a chain reaction that could spread throughout the plot. Characters must be true to yourself. Events should follow the internal logic of the story. One puncture - and the magic will evaporate. The story will die.

The writer is the light that pulls out from the darkness the outlines of an imaginary world that it creates from the void just as a sculptor carves a statue from a piece of granite.

It's not a lake. This is the ocean...
