Useful is what helps a person live long and well. And if his knowledge serves that purpose, it is true. And if they ruin it, they are false.

You, Socrates, perfecting your soul, care about your personal welfare, and Pericles - about the welfare of all Athenians. Where there is more benefit, there is more truth. The degree of mind is the degree of closeness to the truth. And that means Pericles is smarter than you.

One person is at the same time a multitude of people: one is what he imagines to be, and many more as he appears to other people. We will get bogged down in dozens and even hundreds of opinions, defining one person, and we will never come to a common definition. If we consider that the people consist of thousands of people, then we will have a myriad of definitions.

About gods is impossible to know neither what they are nor what they are not, nor what they mean; the reason is the vagueness of the question and the brevity of human life.
