- It's a Norse myth. Of Bal'ter - son of Odin - was beloved by the gods. So much so that they decided to protect him from all possible dangers. His mother Frigg made to swear fire, water, metal, stone and every living creature that they would never hurt Baltero. Then we all gathered to check it out. Stones, arrows, and flame were all hurled at him. Nothing was taken, but there was one God who was not so enamored Baltera. The God of tricks and deception, Loki. Loki discovered that Frigg had forgotten to ask an oath from mistletoe. Such a tiny, seemingly harmless plant that just not taken into account. Loki made a dart out of mistletoe and killed Baltera. Frigg was heartbroken, she decreed that mistletoe would never again become a weapon, and stood place a kiss on those who passed under it. So during the holidays we hang mistletoe on the door. So it always remains in our mind.
