Quote Explanation: The term "levelised" comes from the name of Jacques de La Palisa (or La Palisse), he was a General in the French army and died heroically in one of the battles of Pavia in Italy on 24 February 1525 distant. Ironically, he became the first "Captain Obvious", although he was a General. And - a paradox! - hackneyed truths have never been issued. The soldiers composed a song about it, one of the lines of which - "s il n'était pas mort, Il ferait encore envie" ("if he wasn't dead, he would have envied"). Wrong reading of the second row ("Il serait encore en vie" instead of "Il ferait encore envie") gives a variant: "Alas, if he wasn't dead, he would still be alive," which makes the phrase self-evident. Much later, there was a popular song about La Palice, full of such obvious statements. Song composed by Bernard de La MONUA (FR.) in the XVIII century, has the words: "Un quart d'heure avant sa mort, il était encore en vie" ("For a quarter of an hour before his death, he was still alive").
