Daniel Keyes. Touch (№ 422960)

It all comes down to the fact that every day, week, month and year has value. But after all, days can be lived in different ways - either in vain or profitably, right? And who can say that they are equally valuable? Should you rate time the same, no matter what you do? Or can you calculate its average? Is the day of the life of Picasso, who manages to create a real masterpiece in such a short time, equal to the day of the life of a janitor who is the only one capable of sweeping up fallen leaves? The days of youth when you are seventeen are much less valuable than the days of old age when you are dying. A person is ready to give up all his fortune, which he has been saving for years, in order to finally snatch for himself at least another week or two of life.
