Many of us sleep with the TV on (though some only during the night in a hotel). But why are we doing this, why we did it as a child? Why, when we were little, we was calmer sleep directly under a dining table where guests sit? Or on the sofa with upholstery biting, at hand from older people who are watching a movie? Perhaps the fact that sleep is a separation from reality. Scared of falling into the unknown, when there's no one there.
