We should show the utmost courtesy and friendliness to all visitors - as before. Singapore has become famous as a clean, green and prosperous city. And no action for the development of tourism can not be compared with the benefit from the opinions of people who have visited and appreciated our courtesy, friendliness, honesty and promptness.

Not only industrialization requires Singapore. Economic development is very important, but no less important, and the development of society. We don't want passive, obedient workers, reporting to the chief, who is accountable to his superior, who in turn reports to the boss in anticipation of rewards and promotions. To become independent and decent society, we should be proud and active - otherwise it is impossible. But pride and activity is nothing without self-respect. Self-esteem - the feeling of which is intended to instill in our employees the unions: they protect the rights and dignity of every citizen, every human being. It can be a simple laborer, but he's one of us and should be willing to fight and die for Singapore. But it will never be capable of this, if you are mere sycophant and coward.

In Singapore, there is calm, confidence and harmony. This is possible due to the fact that we do know: there is no problem that cannot be solved through honest and effective government.

We have the type of society that psychologists call focused on achievement. Each of the people young boys and girls have parents who encourage them to be the first among the disciples. Not every society can boast. More often dominated by the desire to sit in the shade, contemplating its own navel. And if you suddenly start hunger, these people just quietly die. Those who are here now, refuse to die meekly. If they have nothing to eat, they will do something, something will be put in the end, something will be stolen. And if you still have to meet death, they will die fighting for the right to live.
