I'd think he was strong enough being his own self that he would never back down the way she was hoping he would. I'd think, maybe he truly is something extraordinary. He's what he is, that's it. Maybe that makes him strong enough, being what he is.

When she posted work assignments on the bulletin board, and he read that she'd given him latrine duty, he went to her office and knocked on that window of hers and personally thanked her for the honor, and told her he d think of her every time he swabbed out a urinal.
When she was pinned to the Bulletin Board a schedule of duties and McMurphy read what is assigned in the restroom, he went to her office, knocked on the window and thanked her for the honor, said he would think about it every time would be to scrub the urinal.

A face handsome and brutal and waxy like a mask, wanting nothing. I've seen a million faces like it.

Shakes hands with everybody he comes to except Big George the water freak, who grins and shies back from that unsanitary hand, so McMurphy just salutes him and says to his own right hand as he walks away, "Hand, how do you suppose that old fellow knew all the evil you been into?"
Shakes hands with everyone, except big George the water freak George smiled and pulled away from unhygienic hands, and McMurphy gives him honor, and, departing, says to his right:
- Hand how he guessed that you have so many sins?

The answer is never the answer. Really interesting mystery. If you are looking for mystery instead of the answer, will look forever. I have never seen anybody find the answer - everyone thinks the answer is found, and stops to think. But the point is, to seek the mystery, to evoke mystery, to cultivate a garden where strange herbs and mysteries bloom. The mystery is much more useful answer.

And later, hiding in the latrine from the black boys, I'd take a look at my own self in the mirror and wonder how it was possible that anybody could manage such an enormous thing as being what he was.
And after hiding in the bathroom from the nurses, I looked at myself in the mirror and was surprised that someone managed such an unheard of thing - to be yourself.

When a man showed up you didn't want to look at his face and he didn't want to look at yours, because it's painful to see somebody so clear that it's like looking inside him, but then neither did you want to look away and lose him completely. You had a choice: you could either strain and look at things that appeared in front of you in the fog, painful as it might be, or you could relax and lose yourself.
When you meet a person, you don't want to face him, and he wants very much painful to see someone with such clarity, it's like looking inside him, but to turn away entirely and you lose too reluctant. So choose: you could either strain and look at what appears out of the fog, although painful to watch, or just relax and lose yourself in the darkness.
