I think its more important that I protested against injustice, than talking in the journals about my personal life or favorite color. This is a very nice feeling when I get letters from veterans returning from Iraq, and they say that my songs gave them strength on the front and leave the war behind. But every calling has its price: when we did "Requiem for a dream", I lived on the streets for months, I starved myself, lost 12 pounds, and I had to avoid sex, to really show what drugs can do to people. Then after the shoot I was a recluse in a Portuguese convent to recover.

Some of the things you dreamed of, do not occur, and it is wonderful. Because sometimes it happens something totally unexpected... It's all magic, it's magical.
