I realized that I have to be the sad clown. Laughing on the outside, crying on the inside.

And somehow cruel: you give the sadness, and the laughter you give.

No clown is funny looks. That's the whole point. The people, seeing them laugh, but only out of pure nervousness. Clowns are needed only for one purpose: once you saw them and that would be with you then no matter what, you will enjoy it like a baby. Nice to know that there's someone who is worse than you.

Inside they cry.

I love people who throw a show-off and build something of yourself. I haven't been in the circus for 8 years, but these clowns see regularly.

I remember my dad took me aside and said: "Son, everybody loves clowns, but nobody pays." I often want to call him and say, "Remember, dad, what you told me? So, the clowns pay!"

Eyes sad, the words laugh
But soon the spectators will disperse,
