Many years ago I was in Burma, my friends and I worked for the local government. It tried to buy the loyalty of leaders of different tribes with precious stones, but their caravan in the woods was attacked by some bandit, and we went to look for stones. In six months of searching, we never found anyone who traded them. I once saw in the hands of baby ruby the size of a tangerine. The bandit had been throwing stones.
