From my very first dreams, that is, almost from my very childhood, I could not imagine myself otherwise, as in the first place, always and in all turns of life.

From the lowest grades of the gymnasium, as soon as one of my comrades was ahead of me either in the sciences, or in sharp answers, or in physical strength, I immediately stopped hanging out with him and talking. It's not that I hated him or wished him bad luck, I just turned away, because that's my nature.

I went up to Vassin and, in a fit of enthusiasm, praised him. And what? That same evening, I already felt that I loved him much less. Why? Precisely because, by praising him, I thereby humbled myself before him.

From the age of twelve, I think, that is, almost from the birth of correct consciousness, I began to dislike people. Not only not to love, but somehow they became difficult for me.

The whole purpose of my life is solitude. In addition to solitude, I also need power.

Find out the truth: continuity and perseverance in gaining and, most importantly, in accumulation, are stronger than instantaneous benefits, even if only one hundred and one hundred percent!

Perseverance in accumulation, even penny sums, subsequently gives enormous results. The simplest form of profit, but only continuous, is mathematically guaranteed success.

I understand too clearly that by becoming a Rothschild, or even only by wishing to become one, I already at the same time leave society.

All religions and all morals in the world come down to one thing:

My idea is to become a Rothschild. Become as rich as Rothschild; not just rich, but exactly like Rothschild.

It's almost impossible to say otherwise.

How many gloomy faces of the common people, hastily returning to their corners from work and crafts! Everyone has his own gloomy concern on his face and not a single, perhaps, common, all-unifying thought in this crowd. All apart.

Why bother with people who don't want you?

There are no moral ideas at all now; suddenly there was not a single one, and, most importantly, with such an air that it was as if they had never existed.
