Our ambitions and dreams delude us with promises of great horizons and help us to endure not-so-awesome gray days. The tricky thing is ambition. At times, they do not allow us to see the price of success. They possess us like this, causing a dangerous obsession or empty hedonism. But as much as us is not ruled by this natural neurological impulse, ambition is not a given. Dreams change. And even if we do not conquer mountains, there is a chance that we can move them.

Why are humans constantly striving for improvement? Most of our ambition is driven by our large prefrontal cortex. Every day we dream about new technological advancements: upgraded cellphones, faster computers, new medical technologies. It seems that science has unlimited potential. And many of these advancements really do make our lives better.
But sometimes I think in our desire to improve we lose sight of something very important. Perhaps we should try to accept the good that is already in us. And not everything needs to be fixed.

In the end all we have is today. On your place I would have enjoyed this day, each precious moment will never happen again!

We know that the concept that we call the past and the future. This is nothing more than fiction generated by our basal ganglia. Our entire concept of time is just an artificial construct.
