Extreme hypocrisy often gives rise to foolishness.

On the beard you are all Abrahams, and on deeds - hams!

Often you do not need an elder at all, you just need a friend.
This total search for elders in our time is a sign of deep loneliness. People are lonely and often no one needs with their problems: "And you know, I feel bad in my soul ..." -" Yes, everyone is bad! Who feels good now?" and it would be better in another way: "Are you healthy? How are you doing? Are you doing well?" It's okay to be interested in people, to ask. In general, there is such a holy question: "How are you doing? How can I help you?"

In order for a person to understand something about himself, a spiritual leader is needed.
But spiritual guidance must be sober. There is no need to look for a miracle worker, some kind of spiritual magnitude of the first scale. You just need an experienced person from the outside, who, even without being an old man, can observe in you something that you will never notice in yourself.

You can cry without tears. A bitter sigh, a crush is also a cry.

It is often thought that repentance consists only of regretting the sins committed. But regret for sins is not repentance, it is only an integral part of it.

We enter the Church by the doors of repentance. This is a general law and there are no exceptions.
