independence [Theme]

The highest good in life is pleasure. Pleasure, first of all, is the absence of suffering (and not sensual pleasures at all!). The best way to do this is to withdraw yourself from all worries and anxieties, from public and government affairs, maximum independence from external conditions, and renunciation of unnecessary desires.

The branches twitched and a cat appeared in the circle of light. Quite skinny, twitching her shoulder dissatisfiedly and clasping her paws in disgust. Three-colored, Mark noted with unexpected pleasure. This is good luck. The symbol of good luck, without even looking in his direction, proudly walked to the house next to the public garden. Even the back symbolized independence and contempt for everything around him, especially for the man sticking out like a pillar near the frozen square. Who are you? Passerby? That would have passed.

- Don't make a fool of yourself! Only a dead person is independent, and only because he does not depend on anyone.

I strove for independence - I achieved it. I get really sad sometimes, I think it's a mistake.

Enslaved by her husband, children, family, home, she [a woman] experiences a heady sense of freedom, finding herself alone, with herself on a hillside, surrounded by nature; here she is not a wife, not a mother, not a housewife; she is human; she contemplates peace and tranquility and understands that she is a being endowed with consciousness and unlimited freedom. Before the secret water, before the peaks directed to the sky, male superiority fades; when she crosses heather-covered glades, plunges rivers into river water, she lives for herself, not for someone else. A woman who has managed to maintain independence in spite of bondage, and in Nature itself will passionately love her own freedom.

It is in vain to expect virtue from women until they become somewhat independent of men.

Woe to the peoples who do not know how to properly limit the sphere of state activity. Little by little, private enterprise will disappear from them, and with it wealth, prosperity, independence, awareness of their own dignity.

The feeling of independence is real power. The ability to allow yourself to spend day after day the way you want, and no matter what is happening around - whether there is a war going on or the borders of the worlds are collapsing.

Doing your job well is the real pleasure. This gives you independence from the farce in which we are all born.

Independence costs money.

The sea speaks its own language, and speech resounds in the stones, in the air, in the sky. What did Captain Nemo say? The sea is not subject to despots.

The more you live a spiritual life, the more independent of fate, and vice versa.
