The branches twitched and a cat appeared in the circle of light. Quite skinny, twitching her shoulder dissatisfiedly and clasping her paws in disgust. Three-colored, Mark noted with unexpected pleasure. This is good luck. The symbol of good luck, without even looking in his direction, proudly walked to the house next to the public garden. Even the back symbolized independence and contempt for everything around him, especially for the man sticking out like a pillar near the frozen square. Who are you? Passerby? That would have passed.

It is in vain to expect virtue from women until they become somewhat independent of men.
Woe to the peoples who do not know how to properly limit the sphere of state activity. Little by little, private enterprise will disappear from them, and with it wealth, prosperity, independence, awareness of their own dignity.
The feeling of independence is real power. The ability to allow yourself to spend day after day the way you want, and no matter what is happening around - whether there is a war going on or the borders of the worlds are collapsing.
Doing your job well is the real pleasure. This gives you independence from the farce in which we are all born.
Independence costs money.

The more you live a spiritual life, the more independent of fate, and vice versa.
There is another aspect of the need for freedom and autonomy. Other things being equal, when faced with information that contradicts their beliefs, people seek, if possible, to find counterarguments. In this way they can keep their own opinions from being over-influenced by others and protect their own sense of autonomy.
