I would have to say that Woody Allen is a bastard. He always asks me to speak badly about him to reporters. But in truth, it is very easy to work with him. He constantly jokes, sometimes even insulting to others. And in this we are similar. Actually, I was lucky. It is rare to meet a person with whom you have such a kindred spirit. In addition, we are both Jews, and this, believe me, is already a lot.

My goal is not to achieve something in life, but to achieve from myself - to remain a good person, to be in the profession and to benefit people by participating in worthy projects. I was brought up on excellent Soviet films, I remember the impression they made on me. For example, "Scarecrow" by Rolan Bykov. You watch and empathize with what is happening on the screen and get such an emotional experience that you understand: you can never mock another person. This is the task, the mission of the art of cinema.

The rest of America is made to swallow you and then forget you. Like raindrops falling into the ocean. Who cares? Who will notice?

Cinema is a mystical art. Some colored shadows run in front of you on the sheet, and you believe them. This contains something inaccessible to us, subconscious, some element of mysticism. I thought that if we were playing two close friends, then we had to be close friends, and then it would come to the screen.
