The photo is not created by photographers. What they do is just open a little window. The world then tapes itself. The action of the photographer is closer to reading than to writing. They are readers of the whole world.

I wanted to capture seconds of people's behavior in eternity.

The more open you are to the world, the more it gives you. Photography can enhance your ability to perceive.

Isn't it strange when strangers decide from one photo to start a full-fledged relationship?

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that all people from eighteen to forty-five are now young people. And so sorry for that, because I'm nineteen! I am the youth. I just don’t understand yet how I can treat the same social group with a vape and a mzhik who has a photo where he sits and compares the size of mushrooms and a pack of cigarettes.

Photography is a skillful creation outside of space and time!

I always prefer to work in the studio. It isolates people from their surroundings. They become, in a sense...symbols of themselves. I often feel that people come to me to shoot, as they would go to a doctor or a fortune teller - to find out what they are. Therefore, they depend on me. I have to get their attention. Otherwise, there will be nothing to shoot. Concentration must come from me and capture them. Sometimes it reaches such intensity that the sounds in the studio are not audible. Time stops. There is a brief, intense intimacy between us. But she's not earned. She has no past... no future. And when the session is over - when the picture is taken - there is nothing left but a photograph ... a photograph and some embarrassment. They leave... and I don't know them. I hardly heard what they said. Meeting them a week later in some room, I don't think they recognize me. Because I feel like I wasn't really there. At least the part of me that was… is now in photography. And for me, photographs have a reality that humans don't. I get to know people through photos. Maybe that's the nature of a photographer. I'm never really involved. I never really need to know. Everything is limited to recognition.

Taking pictures is a purely female prerogative.

People think that they will tear up the photos and thereby free their memory, but this is not so. Memory is with us until the end of our days, this is the most reliable album to keep.

I remember how they gave me a camera for my birthday. It's amazing how the film is able to hold a moment. I knew who I would be when I grew up - a naturalist photographer. Sorry mom! I imagined hunting elephants and rhinos as an adult, but for now I had to be content with Grace Tarking. It's funny how different things are put aside in memory.

For me photography is a life that has stopped its movement in order to demonstrate its greatness and nobility to the memory of people.
