So, the only other reason you should ever talk or befriend anyone on the left and not even be friends is if you are in public, in front of a large audience, and then your goal is to humiliate them. as bad as possible. The goal is not to convince the person, and not to befriend that person. Basis of the conversation is simply make your opponent a greedy, dumb asshole.

Pluralistic democracy requires three factors to function: a common cultural space; common belief in key ideas, largely enshrined in the Constitution; and a general willingness to leave each other alone. As each component collapses, so does the possibility of creating a unified country.

Trump won the presidential election because he was against the left, not because of any political views. He beat the people on the left and the people on the right said, "Yes, these donkeys need to be slaped!"

When the truth doesn't matter, lies about politics are bound to follow.
